About

Diamond Head

One of Hawai’i’s most recognizable landmarks in the world, Diamond Head State Monument is a breathtaking sight witnessed from land, sea, or air. Founded on 475 acres across a 300,000 year-old volcanic crater, the summit at Diamond Head crater is a short, steep hike out of Honolulu and into the clouds. With unparalleled views of O’ahu’s shoreline, Diamond Head is the perfect destination for anyone looking for adventure.

Pacific Historic Parks

Founded in 1979 and led by President and CEO Aileen Utterdyke, Pacific Historic Parks is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of significant Pacific sites for future generations. Through education, interpretive programs, research, preservation, and restoration, we honor the events and people who shaped these historic locations. Today, we support the USS Arizona Memorial, Pearl Harbor National Parks, Kalaupapa National Historical Park, War in the Pacific National Historical Park in Guam, American Memorial Park in Saipan, and Diamond Head State Monument on Oahu. Guided by a commitment to patriotism, remembrance, integrity, and excellence, we strive to provide meaningful experiences that connect visitors to history and perpetuate the legacy of those who served.
